Surgery is one part of becoming yourself, but it's a big one, and choosing where to have it, often in a country you've never visited, is a lot to carry on your own. You want to land knowing whose hands you're in, how long you'll be there and who will be there when you wake up.
Thailand, and Bangkok in particular, has been a centre for MTF surgery for decades. Its hospitals and clinics cover the whole of a transition: vaginoplasty, including peritoneal vaginoplasty, facial feminization surgery (FFS), breast augmentation, tracheal shave and voice feminization, and most are set up for international patients. These are the best MTF surgery clinics in Thailand in 2026: what each one does, who operates, the hospital behind them and how long to plan in Bangkok.
How we rank MTF surgery clinics in Thailand
I've spent over ten years coordinating international patients through Bangkok hospitals: visiting the clinics, sitting in on consultations, comparing treatment plans and seeing people through recovery. This list ranks on what matters when it's your body: who will operate, the hospital behind them, how much of MTF surgery they cover and how quickly you get a straight answer.
Every fact comes from each provider's own website, checked 12 October 2026, with sources on its profile. No provider pays to be listed or to move up.

Kamol Hospital is where I'd send a friend. It is a JCI-accredited hospital built around gender-affirming surgery, founded by plastic surgeon Dr. Kamol Pansritum, who has more than 10,000 FFS procedures to his name by the hospital's count, and it cares for patients from over 70 countries. Its male-to-female surgery covers vaginoplasty and peritoneal vaginoplasty, the full range of facial feminization, breast augmentation and voice feminization, with microsurgery and endoscopic theatres, an 11-bed recovery room and anaesthesiologists and psychiatrists on staff. From your first message you have a personal representative. Plan on about four weeks in Bangkok for vaginoplasty, four to seven nights of it in hospital, then heal at K Garden, its own serviced apartments.

It works to the WPATH standards of care and offers vaginoplasty by penile skin inversion, sigmoid colon or zero-depth technique, so you and your surgeon can choose what fits your body and your life, alongside facial feminization and breast augmentation. Operations under general anaesthetic take place at one of its two JCI-accredited partner hospitals in Bangkok. You know your timeline before you book: five nights in hospital and at least 18 days in Bangkok for vaginoplasty, one night and at least seven days for a tracheal shave.

Bumrungrad International Hospital
Watthana · Private hospital · Checked 12 Oct 2026
Bumrungrad International Hospital on Sukhumvit Soi 3 is a large JCI-accredited international hospital, and its Pride Clinic means you are cared for as a trans woman, not slotted in as a cosmetic patient. Since 2021 it has brought hormone therapy, gender-affirming surgery, voice surgery and training and help with legal documents into one department, so the people looking after your body understand your whole transition. For trans women that means facial feminization, voice feminization surgery, breast augmentation and vaginoplasty, including peritoneal vaginoplasty. Bangkok Plastic Surgery
Din Daeng · Private clinic · Checked 12 Oct 2026
Bangkok Plastic Surgery in Din Daeng is built around one board-certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Pichet Rodchareon, and that is its strength: from your first message to your last follow-up, you know exactly whose hands you're in. Facial feminization is where it shines, with a day in hospital and two weeks of follow-up in Bangkok. It also offers tracheal shave and vaginoplasty. Its 24-hour hotline means someone picks up whenever you need them, before you fly and after you land, and that matters when you are a long way from home.

Masterpiece Hospital
Dusit · Private hospital · Checked 12 Oct 2026
Masterpiece Hospital on Sukhothai Road in Dusit is a dedicated cosmetic surgery hospital, and for trans women it offers facial feminization across the whole face: brow ridge and forehead, hairline, nose, cheekbones, jaw and chin, with fat grafting where it helps. It also offers breast augmentation. Because this is a hospital rather than a day clinic, you stay in after the bigger operations, one night after forehead contouring and one to two nights after jaw and chin work, so the first night of your recovery is spent in a hospital bed with care around you, not alone in a hotel room.
- Dedicated cosmetic surgery hospital
- Facial feminization across the whole face
- Breast augmentation
- Overnight hospital care after facial bone surgery
How to plan MTF surgery in Bangkok
-
1
Decide what this trip is for
Vaginoplasty, facial feminization, breasts and voice each have their own recovery, and some people combine them while others spread them over several trips. Write down what you want done and in what order, then ask each provider whether they'd do it in one stay or several.
-
2
Start before you travel
Kamol and Yanhee offer a free consultation from photos, PAI starts with an online consultation, Bangkok Plastic Surgery has a 24-hour hotline and Bumrungrad's Pride Clinic has its own line, +66 2 011 5611. Send the same details to two or three of them so you have plans you can compare.
-
3
Ask for a written treatment plan
Ask each provider to set out every procedure, who will operate, the anaesthesia, how many nights you'll spend in hospital, the follow-up visits and anything you'll need after you leave, such as dilators after vaginoplasty. Seeing it all on paper is the surest way to know what you're agreeing to.

Plan your time in Bangkok
Allow two to three weeks for facial feminization and from two and a half to four weeks for vaginoplasty, and book flights with some flexibility. Find somewhere comfortable to recover close to the hospital, and if you can, bring someone with you: healing takes time, and you deserve company while it happens.
This page is information, not medical advice: the surgeon who examines you is the one to decide which surgery suits you and when.
MTF surgery in Thailand: common questions
Which clinic in Thailand is best for vaginoplasty?
Kamol Hospital is my first choice: gender-affirming surgery is its main work, it offers peritoneal as well as standard vaginoplasty, and you recover in its own apartments. PAI has operated on trans women since 1975 and offers three vaginoplasty techniques, while Yanhee and Bumrungrad suit people who want a large JCI-accredited hospital with a dedicated trans care centre.
Which clinic in Thailand is best for facial feminization surgery?
Kamol Hospital, where facial feminization is the work the hospital is known for and Dr. Kamol has more than 10,000 FFS procedures to his name by the hospital's count. Yanhee pairs a dedicated facial feminization surgeon with a large hospital, and Bangkok Plastic Surgery puts one named surgeon on your case from start to finish. Our Bangkok FFS guide ranks the face on its own.
How long do I need to stay in Thailand?
It depends on the surgery. For vaginoplasty, PAI asks for at least 18 days and Kamol and Bumrungrad plan on about four weeks. Facial feminization means two to three weeks, and breast augmentation or voice feminization at Kamol about 10 to 14 days. Your surgeon will confirm when you can fly.
Which MTF surgery clinics in Thailand are JCI accredited?
Kamol Hospital, Yanhee International Hospital and Bumrungrad International Hospital are JCI accredited, and PAI does its operations under general anaesthetic at two JCI-accredited partner hospitals.
